Italy has some of the purest chocolate in the world. The dimwitted fools of the EU want to add regulations to allow more crap in your chocolate so that big companies can make lots more profit at the expense of your health and well-being, so maybe you want to eat some real chocolate now so you can tell your kids or grandkids what real chocolate tastes like.
Florence just had its March chocolate festival or fiera del cioccolato artigianale. Melinda Gallo give you a little Italian language lesson along with a description and a fine photo of the goings on.
I always like the idea of biting into a monkey wrench made of chocolate. They look so real. I figure you could invite some friends over and then after they’re all huddled in the living room you’d excuse yourself to go into the bathroom with your chocolate wrench and fix a leak in the ol’ crapper, then come back into the room munching on your wrench.
That’d be a hoot. I think.
