Flying is Unsafe - But Keep Buying Tickets!

Imagine, US citizens payed NASA $8.5 million for a survey of Airline safety, and it’s so excruciatingly bad news that NASA won’t release it lest it provoke the masses to vomit (or worse yet, stop flying and thus reduce airline profits).

Not only that, “NASA ordered the contractor that conducted the survey to purge all related data from its computers.” ~ NASA Won’t Disclose Air Safety Survey

Whew! You pay through the nose for information you can’t access because it might cause you to act in a rational matter that creates lower profits for companies skimping on safety? And that’s a bad thing?

And there’s a bonus. Because they’ve hidden the information, we’ll all get to say, “hot damn, it must be really, really bad!”

Because, remember, flying is still about a jillion times safer than driving.

It’s just like in the Bible, when God focuses the first couple’s attention on the tree of life and then forbids them access, which lasts for all of several minutes or so…

We’re human. We’re curious. We want to know.

And we paid for the damn report.

Speaking of wanting to know: I don’t know how anyone cannot see that the “Corporate State” that a certain Mussolini trumpeted hasn’t arrived in full force.

It’s sad, really.
