The picture above shows a hefty .428 kilogram chunk of Parmigiano Reggiano DOC. You’ll pay $23 to $29 for a pound of it in the US. Here in the Lunigiana, the price is an amazing € 10.50 per kilo.

Here’s why you should come to italy. Forget all that stuff about saving money by sacrificing your access to good food. Don’t settle for a slice of pizza in a place where pizza isn’t a thing. Calculate how much you’ll save by eating great food.
