Beppe Grillo, blogger, comedian and political activist, has purchased a house in Lugano, according to ItalyMag. He’s trying to escape blog censorship or shutdown, measures currently being discussed in Italian parliament.
The world has certainly become an odd place for freedom as governments rush to grab every bit of power they can over the people who toil honestly and speak freely. In this case, the government wants to protect we the people from “printed word crimes.”
What’s really odd about this is that I received quite a few inquiries about moving to Italy in the event that John McCain won the presidential election in the US. Imagine, freedom loving Americans disgusted with arbitrary and endless war coming in droves to Italy while their brothers in life-lust move elsewhere.
What’s the world coming to? Or, who’s coming to save the world?
Perhaps (s)he’s been here, and we didn’t notice because we were living that fine, old Leviticus life.
