Map Key

Stages in dark red are thought to indicated the most grueling, exciting stages to watch. Next most likely to be interesting are in yellow. Blue indicates a stage that may not be as hotly contested, or doesn't have as grand a landscape. The coding was based on a survey of Internet Giro sources, but comes mostly from the excellent Workingman's Guide to the Centenary Giro

The best stage to watch? I defer to a report of a Vote by Italian Tifose or cycling fans, who chose the 10th stage, Cuneo to Pinerolo, which loops through the French Alps before heading into Pinerolo across the ski areas made popular by the recent Torino Winter Olympics.
