My neighbors have their olive nets out. Not doing anything, mind you. They’re just sitting there, waiting for their turn to be tucked in below olive trees in order to catch some falling olives.
Such a life.
Anyway, sex seems to have a lot to do with olives and olive trees. If you are olive sex savvy, you can tell the difference between the rough-and-tumble male trees and the feathery light female ones. Even the shape of the olive is different. Females are slimmer, pointier.
How do I know all this? How did I get to be an olive sex genius? I read The Secret Life of Olives, that’s how.
